      • Granola

         

        This is a super-simple recipe for tasty granola.

        Ingredients:

        - 500g jumbo porridge oats

        - 100g of mixed seeds (available to buy plastic-free from Happy Earth Place)

        - 100g chopped nuts (available to buy plastic-free from Happy Earth Place)

        - 50g honey

        - 50g of hot water

        - 50g of rapeseed oil or olive oil

         

         

        1. Empty 500g jumbo porridge oats into a large mixing bowl.

         

        2. Add 100g of mixed seeds and 100g chopped nuts and stir together well.

         

        3. Dissolve 50g honey with 50g of hot water in a jug.

        4. Mix the honey/water and 50g of rapeseed oil or olive oil into the mixing bowl with the oats, seeds and nut, stirring well with metal spoons.

         

        5. Pour the mixture into a roasting tin and bake for 10-12 mins at 180 C.

         

        6. Remove from the oven and give the mixture a very good stir taking care not to spill it!

         

        7. Return the roasting tin to the oven for a further 10-12 mins at the same temperature.

         

        8. Remove from oven and leave to completely cool.

         

        9. Stir in your preferred combination of raisins, apricots, banana chips, mixed peel to suit your own taste. Or try mixing grated apple into the mix before it goes into the oven.
